From Mesh

This is an atlas of workshops, facilities, art groups and spaces in the UK, organised by location and by type, to help you make connections in your area and further afield.

Please add you own initiatives (and indeed towns or categories) to the atlas, but keep in mind that all listings should be sympathetic to the ethos of this site.

Here's a guide on how to add to the atlas to help you get started.

If you're feeling very stuck and want to speak directly to the caretaker, email Esther at mesh.caretaker@gmail.com (account checked every monday).

BJ Choudrē www.bjchoudre.co I'll connect with anyone as 'The currency of real networking is not greed but generosity' ~ Keith Ferrazzi
Daniel Russell d.russell@thenewbridgeproject.com Anyone who wants to make leaps of the imagination and share DIY organising methods because I am interested in challenging the boring neoliberal slide into the abyss I want to share tools and methods for pushing creativity and connections for artists and non-artists because it's my interest and also my job.
Tom Lines tom.p.lines@gmail.com Anyone interested in weird spaces, monsters, the Neo-Gothic, in-between things and places, cursed imagery, ecology, bugs, using everyday things in wrong ways I work in digital art, music, sound, installation and painting. I'd like to connect with anyone with the same interests. I'd love to work with people to make sound to accompany visual work or film, or even to collaborate digitally on sound or music with people, or do a group show around Gothic or ecological themes. I also need help from someone who knows a bit about coding to help realise some interactive installation work.
Euan Lynn http://www.euanlynn.com People who are interested in sharing ideas around the built environment and radical politics - to build a network of creatives working around this topic, to collaborate, share knowledge and produce new work/shows/outputs Knowledge of mid-century architectural projects and their politics / electronic sound making techniques / North East local history - to help shine a light on an overlooked part of the country and overlooked radical potentialities within architecture and synthesisers.
Victoria Louise Doyle victorialouisedoyle.com - victorialouisedoyle@outlook.com I would like to connect with the spirits of photography, so hit me up for a seance if you too would like to delve into that world! I am keen on exploring learning and researching alternative ways of learning that are then developed into methods of teaching, if you are intrigued by this then I would like to connect with you. I'm not sure what I would like to share as of yet, but I shall keep you posted!
Will Stockwell wstockwell@live.co.uk www.instagram.com/vvillstockwell Cross-disciplinary collaboration between Art+Science, generating creative solutions to problems, and making art-work outside of galleries are key motives of Will’s practice. Will works across mediums: recently making video. He is inspired by the irreverence of artists such as John Baldessari (USA, 1931-2020) who famously vowed not to “make anymore boring art”. This ethos is reflected in Will’s work, which aims to unpack the process of making art in playful and humorous ways.
Sue Loughlin sueloughlin.com sueloughlin73@gmail.com Anyone who isn't sure what's going on or what to do about it, particularly if you are an artist with kids, so that we can seek some common ground and be less terrified and angry about the status quo Would like to share experinces, ideas, opportunites as well as cups of tea and shoulders to cry on (virtually or IRL when COVID allows) because everything is better with tea and a chat.
Jenny Mc Namara jennymcnamara.com and spaghettofactoro.weebly.com I'm happy to connect with other visual artists/sculptors, especially abstract artists or anyone interested in: colour and pattern, neuroaesthetics, installation art, minimalism and repetition, curation, perception and visual processing or the crossover between art and science I'd be happy to collaborate with like minded people, exhibit/curate/write together and I'm especially interested in speaking to scientists or other artists interested in science/visual processing/the value of abstraction/how art can be good for you
Lauren J Matthews laurenjmatthews.weebly.com Anyone interested in Northumbrian folklore, occultism, witchcraft, folk horror, manga/anime, sequential art I want to provide resources on comics/sequential art, trying to bridge the gap between this medium and illustration/fine art
Margaret Jennings @margaretkokoro, margaretkokoroarts@gmail.com socially-engaged, participative, critically-questioning eco-arts practice happy to offer workshops, silent walks, mindfulness spontaneous sketch classes based on re-sensitising to nature, gifted tree planting exchange ceremonies. Keen to link up with people who are interested in eco-arts.
Zoe Kendall @zoe_appy, zoekendall@proton.me Other performance artists, to possible collaborate on performance events and workshops together, or to get to know what other performance artists are up to. I would like to share what I am doing in Newcastle, with The Performance Troupe and The Performance Showcase.

Into The Wild Chisenhale Studios [ http://www.intothewildchisenhale.co.uk/about.html ] Now in its sixth year, Into the Wild is a free, year-long development programme for recent BA graduate artists. It aims to offer support and inspiration to artists in the early stages of their career and in need of practical advice on how to survive and thrive in the real world and develop their practice. Selected artists are up to 3 years out of BA and represent a diversity of practices from across the spectrum of colleges in London and further afield. The programme involves an 8 week (1 day a week) course crammed with talks and workshops by leading arts professionals, plus a year involving mentoring from Studio Members; exhibitions: publications and tool kits; curatorial support; and a residency. Residencies take place off-site, and are tailored to the participants in association with a plethora of exciting institutions. Into the Wild is led by artist Sophie Chapman & Chisenhale Art Place's Artist Development Coordinator Rosie Hermon, in collaboration with the artists at Chisenhale Studios. The programme was conceived by Chisenhale Studio Members as a way of giving back and reaching out to new generations of artists.
